i went thru the aieee08 papers.i think this paper was quiet difficult compared to the standard of aieee07.i had given aieee07 thats why i can roughly predict the ranks ..this time cutoffs will dip..
last time a scoreo of 211-218 would have fetched u a rank betwin 9k 2 10k…expect a 10 mark dip there.
a score of 230 might take u somewhere bitwin 4900-5500.
anythin more than 250 is a 3000-4300 roughly
take 4rm me there is goin to be a dip in marks

i am getting 201 according to narayana and 218 according to TIME. i have doubt in 2-3 questions.

you guys do know that the papers was of 315 marks and not the usual 360 right? its great you guys are getting above 200, but an average student who has studied wont manage to get above 100, it was a very tough papers and unlike previous aieee papers only a fraction of the question were based upon logical reasoning, the chunk being knowledge based. i’m afraid the aieee papers are heading towards being more like the cbse board papers, where all you have to be is mug it all up and puke it out on the paper. i can with a some degree of surity that this is not good for the educational system and this is not good for people with high iq and basic reasoning skills. i’m very disappointed with my paper and further i’m very disappointed with the future of competitive exams. the ones who have got beyond 200, well done, but what about the rest, are we all going to stay home another year solely because of the unfit paper and the vastly unskilled paper setters? this needs to be changed, but it won’t as it favours the majority and frankly because no one likes to race their brains, but they all do love mugging.

hey ankur u have written that no ques in chem is wrong but the ques wen phenol treated with con h2so4 then with con hno3 it is industrial prep of picric acid that is 246 trinitrophenol but none of the options match then what do u have to say ? many coaching institute have published wrong answer ..itz solution is in 12 ncert year 2007 edition chemistry phenol chapter pg 260 in reactions of phenols with con.hno3…??? plz ask ur coaching sir and let us know..!

article in ncert 2007 edition chemistry says:-
”industrially picric acid is prepared by treating phenol first with conc h2so4 w/c yields 2,4 disulphonic acid this on treating with con hno3 yields 246 trinirophenol i.e picric acid ”

n ankur the ranks u r projecting acc to many seniors of my school who r in nit bhopal r saying paper was hard n 2007 paper does not even stand in front of 2008 paper in terms of difficulty previous year physics n this year physics no match!! last year people with less i.q level were also selected as there were direct formula based ques but this u better watch out! 100 marks /360 in aieee 2007 had 70k rank u have predicted 70k on 100 which is out of 315 n along with it the paper was very hard as compared with 2007 i think u should post a new rank prediction!!!! last year maths ques was on lmvt direct this u did not have direct ques n i think iq level of students remain almost same by each passing year i.e same in 07 and 08 . if just imagine this year’s paper wud have come the previous year i think 100 marks would have got about 45-55 k n same alteratons wud have been there in other ranks also ne ways …….
do go thru my chemistry ques n my explaination n give a reply!!!!!

hey ankur thanks alot yaar 4ur help . ankur i had checked the mechanical syllabus it has alot of portion related with auto. sector construction buildings etc… so i was hesistant but electrical n electronics have syll based on emi , electrostats related topics N CHEMICAL COVERS physical chem portion like thermo etc… i am very much interested in mobile comm n if i take EEE THEN I CAN SERVE TELECOMM SECTOR BUT WITH MECH WILL I B ABLE TO DO SO??? Hi Saif…ok i am here to respond you on behalf of Ankur…You r going to study in the college of your choice(except DCE)…and ofcourse..fiitjee solutions are best to deal…You may have an option of Nit Jaipur(excluding Warangal/Trichy)..but will surely be lucky to choose the best of other nits…acoording to your interst…all the best buddy.

Raman u can attend counselling….if u remember ur roll no… and have postal recipt…of the application form…..no there wont be any… scholarship on fees..on category basis…or other pedestal…for other questions…ur marks is req

You are correct.But whatever i have given datas that’s for UP state because i belongs to UP.
So for UP people It’s very difficult to get into CS in NIT’s more than 5000 ranks.
I know three IITs introduces in this year But how much people will be reflect,just assume seats will be increase around 1000-1500. To get into CS branch in NITs for UP cut off will be <=6000 maximum. I hope so.
