Firefox 3 has improved Password Saving

Opera 9.5 has got a new feature that it does not holds back the website from loading when prompted for “Save Password”.This gives the site oppurunity to continue log in and give the user the power to change the login credentials if unfortunately posted wrong.A simillar feature can be seen in the latest version of Firefox 3 - Nightlies ,but it is implented a bit better than that of Opera in the sense that Opera 9.5 uses a pop up dialog box to prompt for password saving whereas Firefox 3 uses a slim bar along the top of the site just like the Internet Explorer as shown in the image above it is small ,user friendly but cant be said pretty.
This feature is a good alternative to not still found feature of determining whether the login was successful, and if the login wasn’t correct prevent the password-saving option from even appearing.
Another Update that firefox has got is that now a bar appears asking for permission if the site asks you to install an extension whereas earlier one had to save the site in whitelist. But now one can temproraily allow it just like IE.

Pownce gets useful updates!
The Pownce got some very useful updates early yesterday. These Updates were announced in the Pownce Blog. The following changes have been made in the site:-
In the right column of your pownce homepage, you’ll now see the next five upcoming events you’ve been sent. It’s a handy way to make sure you don’t miss something.
The Pownce now has the feature to embed videos in the notes from some famous sites like youtube, metacafe,Revver, Vimeo and others. You need to just link to the video’s page in the notes and it will appear.
Like the videos, image thumbnails are also been automatically displayed when you link to images from services that are supported. Right now, Zooomr images are displayed in your notes, but we can hope for to support more services (such as Photobucket and Flickr) in the future.
| At lot of people have social networks online other than Pownce. Now, you can display them on your profile, so people can find you elsewhere too. Most of the major networks (Facebook, Myspace, Last.fm, and others) are supported, so go show your friends where to find you. You can also show your instant messaging IDs and link to your blog or website. | ![]() |
Now you can better customize your Pownce. Some big feature requests have been addressed. You can now open links in a new window by default! You can also set your default note view to something other than ‘notes & replies’, and you can select whom you’re note Tired of seeing all replies displayed inline? No worries, you can set it to just ‘notes’. And finally, you can specify whom notes should go to by default (such as your ‘best friends’ or ‘coworkers’ set).

Security flaw hits MSN Messenger
A newly reported vulnerability could put the security of MSN Messenger users at risk.
The flaw lies in MSN Messenger’s video chat component and could allow an attacker to remotely execute code on a user’s system. The vulnerability does not affect the latest version of the application, now known as Windows Live Messenger 8.1.
An attacker could exploit the flaw by injecting specially-crafted code into a video chat invitation.
On accepting the invitation, the user would experience a buffer overflow, which could in turn cause an application crash and allow the attacker to execute malicious code.
Discovery of the vulnerability is credited to a researcher known as ‘Wushi’.
Security firm Secunia rated the vulnerability as ‘highly critical’, the second highest of its five alert levels.
A Microsoft spokesperson said that the company is investigating the flaw. Microsoft and Secunia recommend that users upgrade to Windows Live Messenger 8.1.
Secunia also recommended that users who have not upgraded should avoid unsolicited video chat invites.
A similar flaw was reported two weeks ago in Yahoo Messenger which could allow an attacker to execute malicious code through a specially crafted chat invite.
