Office Live Update 1.2 released
The Office Live Update 1.2 installs (1) performance updates to make using Office Live Workspace with Microsoft Office programs faster, (2) the latest Office Live Add-in for Microsoft Office that enables you to access your workspaces directly from Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and (3) the Multiple Document Upload Tool and (4) the Firefox add-in to allow users of the Firefox browser to use Office Live Workspace with Microsoft Office.

The Office Live Add-in adds new menu options in the 2007 Microsoft Office Suite and a toolbar in Microsoft Office XP and Office 2003. You will be able to open documents located in Office Live Workspace directly from Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. You will also be able to save files directly from Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to Office Live Workspace.
The Multiple Document Upload Tool lets you add multiple documents to a workspace at once and even allows users to drag and drop files directly from their desktop.
If you use the Mozilla Firefox browser, the Microsoft Office Live Workspace Plug-In for Firefox lets you open, edit, and save Microsoft Office documents in Office Live Workspace directly from the browser using Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Firefox is a registered trademark of the Mozilla Foundation.

Office 2007: 120 Million Licenses Shipped
Vista may claim 180 million licenses shipped, but Office 2007 probably has more deployments.
Stephen Elop, president of Microsoft’s Business division, revealed the sales figures during the company’s annual Financial Analysts Meeting today. There have been “120 million licenses sold since the launch of Office 2007,” he asserted.
Microsoft also uses “sold” to refer to Vista “shipments.” But “sold” might better describe Office 2007. New PCs ship with Vista, whereas Office 2007 must be separately acquired. One is a choice, the other is not. And many enterprises are choosing to strip off Vista for Windows XP.
Stephen said 90 percent of enterprises will have deployed Office 2007 by mid-2009. Whoa, that’s impressive. Analyst projections put Vista enterprise adoption more like 10 to as much as 15 percent in the same time frame.
